As a prelude to the Guantánamo Baracoa Theatrical Crusade, which will traverse the valleys and mountains from January 28 to March 2, the city of Guaso is currently hosting the Crusaders for the City event, a space to socialize with the public of the main municipality some of the proposals that will be taken to the lomerío.
According to information from the Provincial Council of Performing Arts, until January 22, theatrical creations from the Cuban High East will be taken to communities such as Arroyo Hondo, Pueblo Mocho, Santa Rosa, Montesano, San Pedro, Paraguay, La Cecilia, Maqueisito, La Jabilla, Carreterita, Loma Blanca and the University District.
For the enjoyment of the adult and children's public, classic works from the Guantanamo artistic repertoire will be presented, including Enredo de Clowns, by the Carpandilla circus group; The Dog that did not know how to bark, A snake in trouble, The Drummer, The Sower and Opalín and the Devil, all from Guiñol Guantánamo, precisely Opalín… celebrates 25 years on stage, for which the 22nd will be inaugurated at the Guiñol headquarters an exhibition recalling its main moments.
Crossed by the city, on this occasion, it will be carried out prioritizing the vulnerable communities and complying with the hygienic-sanitary measures in the face of COVID-19, however, the theaters will not be left out of the festivities, because on January 22, coinciding with the Day of the Cuban Theater, the play Una para todos, by the Corpus Puppets group, will be premiered at 10 in the morning in the Guiñol room.
